Brian Bennett received his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance from Kent State University where he studied with Michael Burritt. He then earned a Master of Music degree in Performance and Literature alon with the coveted Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of Music where he studied with John Beck.
In addition to his freelance work in the areas of musical theater, jazz, classical, and contemporary chamber music, he is a regular performer with the Sounds of Sousa concert band. He has arranged music for marching bands and indoor marching percussion ensembles from six states.
As an educator, Brian teaches each summer at the Signature Music Camp (Ithaca, NY), is a concert and marching percussion specialist for the Brunswick and Nordonia school districts, maintains an active private studio, and is an instructor and arranger for the Matrix Independent Marching Percussion Ensemble. Since 2004, he has been the instructor of percussion at the Kent State University Stark Campus where he teaches lessons, methods class, and directs the Kent Stark Percussion Ensemble.
