Clyde McGuire

Clyde McGuire is the percussion instructor at Williams High School in Plano, Texas.  He has also been teaching private lessons in the Garland, Plano, Richardson, and Wylie Independent School Districts for the past five years. His duties include instructing the marching percussion section as well as the percussion ensemble.  Currently, Clyde has over fifty students that he teaches privately and many of those students have moved on to perform in the Santa Clara Vanguard, Boston Crusaders, and The Blue Knights.  When Clyde is not teaching privately, he consults and instructs the Wylie Band Drumline and Plano East Senior High Front Ensemble; in addition to helping out with various High Schools and Junior High percussion ensembles.

Clyde graduated from Terrebonne High School in Houma, Louisiana.  He participated in All-District, All-South, and Ark-La-Tex honor bands.

Clyde studied music education and performance at Northwestern State University under Professor Kenneth Green, Bill Brent, and Dr. Burt Allen. He performed in various ensembles such as the Spirit of Northwestern Demon Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Men's Chorus, Concert choir, Chamber choir, as well as performing with the Rapides Symphony Orchestra in Alexandria, Louisiana.

As a professional, he has been an active clinician in Louisiana, Tennessee, and Texas; in addition to working as a drumline consultant and writer. Clyde also performs in stage plays and other percussion groups.  His professional affiliations include:  Texas Music Educators Association, Percussive Arts Society, and Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity.
