Eric Proctor is a percussion educator and performer throughout Florida. Currently, he is the Associate Band Director at JP Taravella High School in Coral Springs, FL. In that role, Eric serves as the Percussion Director, conducts the middle two concert bands, and is an active member of the marching band program.  

Eric holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida in Music Performance. There, he studied with former JSO principal Charlotte Mabrey and Kevin Garry.  Eric is very active in percussion chamber music and has performed many well known pieces such as John Cage’s “Third Construction” and “Credo in Us” and Steve Reich’s “Six Marimbas”, among others. He has performed with many Florida orchestras including the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra, Boca Symphonia, and the South Florida Philharmonic. In addition, Eric was a member of the 2009 and 2011 Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps front ensemble.

As an educator, Eric has been a percussion consultant for Cypress Bay High School PSO program and Ancient City Ensemble IPO program. Eric was also the Percussion Director for The Oakleaf High School Band as well as Fletcher High School Band.

Eric endorses Innovative Percussion products and lives in South Florida.
