Tim Berg is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in both Percussion Performance (BM) and Instrumental Music Education (BME). Currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Percussion Performance and Literature at UIUC, he studies snare drum, drum set, and latin percussion with Ricardo Flores as well as timpani and mallet percussion with William Moersch. Tim performs all over the Chicago and Central Illinois areas with various groups such as Sinfonia da Camera, Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra, Champaign-Urbana Theatre Company, Dry Creek Station, and I-Pan Steel Drum Band. Additionally he has performed at two Percussive Arts Society International Conventions with the University of Illinois Gamelan in 2009 and the 50th Anniversary Mass Steel Band in 2011.
Tim is also the percussion instructor/arranger at Mahomet-Seymour High School in Central Illinois where he is entering his fourth year of teaching the private studio and marching percussion sections. Tim spent two summers in the front ensemble of the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps from 2009-2010 and is currently on the percussion staff for The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps.
