He has performed in orchestras under the direction of Leonard Slatkin, Asher Fisch, Rossen Milanov, and Cliff Colnot, and has been fortunate enough to work with composers as notable as John Corigliano, Zhou Long, Bernard Rands, and Chen Yi. His students have earned success at the local, regional, and national levels in both concert and marching settings.

Andy received his BM with Honors in Percussion from Indiana University, and his MM in Orchestral Performance at the UMKC Conservatory of Music & Dance. In addition to his academic and non-profit responsibilities, he maintains an active freelance career as a classical percussionist, drumset artist, private teacher, clinician, and arranger in and around Kansas City. Andy proudly endorses Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets.
