Leo Ouderits completed his music studies at the Royal Flemish Conservatory of Antwerp (Belgium). Among his most important teachers we find famous names such as Louis Cauberghs, Theo Mertens and August Verbesselt.

At the moment Leo Ouderits teaches at the Lemmens Institute (Leuven, Belgium) and at the Royal Flemish Conservatory of Antwerp. He is a guest teacher at the Académie d’Eté de Wallonie (Libramont, Belgium).

He also founded The Mol Percussion Orchestra and is currently still responsible for the artistic leadership of this professional ensemble. Their performances were highly appreciated at various international festivals. When Antwerp became the Cultural Capital of Europe in 1993, the orchestra opened the festivities together with the Walter Boeykens Clarinet Choir. They played the impressive ‘Talisker’, a composition by Luc Brewaeys.

As a solo musician Leo Ouderits has already performed with many eminent musicians such as Keiko Abe, Walter Boeykens , Jos Van Immerseel and Theo Mertens. He was also a guest artist in various orchestras.

As a composer he has written many compositions for different instrumentations. A few of his most important works are ‘Percussion Pictures’ (percussion orchestra), ‘Iso Raya’ (percussion orchestra), ‘Poem for Vibes’ (vibraphone solo), ‘Passing by’ (marimba solo), ‘Introduction for the Queen’ (brass band), ‘To Beat or not to Beat’ (set-up), ‘Per Aspera ad Astra’ (percussion orchestra), ‘Rapadiddle’ (percussion orchestra) and ‘Voces de Argentina’ (vibraphone solo).
