Mr. Gargus is the director of bands at the Cole County R - 1 School District in Russellville, Missouri. He currently teaches 6th grade band, 7th grade band, 8 - 12th grade band, a high school percussion class, and high school music electives. The percussion student grades 6 - 12 are enriched with a comprehensive curriculum spanning orchestra and rudimental snare drum, two and four mallet keyboard, marching percussion, concert percussion, drum set, accessory percussion, and world percussion. Mr. Gargus is also the director of percussion for the Missouri Lions All - State Band, an honor marching band affiliated with Lions Club International made up of high school students from across the state. 

In 2014, Mr. Gargus graduated from the University Of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri with a Bachelor Of Music Education (Instrumental) degree. It was there that he studied under former Percussive Arts Society Drum Set Committee Chair Dr. Michael Sekelsky. While a student in Warrensburg, Mr. Gargus was fortunate enough to teach multiple drumlines, private lessons, and percussion ensembles throughout Missouri, working with as many as eight high schools concurrently. 

Mr. Gargus is a proud alumnus of both Freedom Indoor Percussion and Legacy Indoor Percussion. He is also an educational artist with Innovative Percussion, Inc.
