Nicholas Garofalo is currently the Assistant Band Director and Percussion Specialist at Chattahoochee High School in Alpharetta, Georgia. He also teaches fourth and fifth grade band at Ocee Elementary. Under the direction of percussionist Dr. Monte Coulter, Directors Dr. Stuart Benkert and Mr. Tony D’Andrea, Nicholas, Nicholas graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. Through college Nicholas was the percussion arranger for the UTC drum line under the direction of Dr. Stuart Benkert. For the current WGI season he will be working with Atlanta Quest indoor percussion ensemble as a front and full ensemble instructor. During the 2006 winter season he instructed and arranged for the Chattanooga Independent A Percussion Ensemble through their inaugural year and placed 4th at WGI World Championships. Mr. Garofalo is currently a member of MENC, GMEA, and alumni of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. In recent years Mr. Garofalo has had the privilege of performing at TMEA, PASIC, and in London, England with The Chattahoochee Cougar Band. Mr. Garofalo has taught and adjudicated many high school drum lines, percussion ensembles, and clinics throughout the Southeast.
