Miami Beach Senior High School
Mr. Bellamy has spent the last ten years as an in demand performer, arranger, and educator. He has arranged music that has been performed by various High School Marching Ensembles as well as chamber groups and jazz ensembles. Wynton Marsalis and The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Grammy Award Winner Bob Belden, Grammy Award Nominee Fred Hersch, and Grammy Award Nominee Conrad Herwig, as well as The Centerville Indoor Winter Drumline, The Centerville Jazz Band, Clinton Massie High School, and many others have all performed arrangements by Mr. Bellamy. In 2004, The New York All-State Honor Jazz Ensemble performed his arrangement of ‘Rapture’ with guest artist Conrad Herwig.
As an educator, Mr. Bellamy has worked with many High School and College jazz ensembles, marching bands, drumlines, and chamber groups throughout the country. From 1996-2006 he was a staff member of the BOA Grand National Marching Band Champions ‘The Centerville Jazz Band’ from Centerville, Ohio. He has served as a consultant, drill writer, and visual caption head for many marching bands and indoor drumlines in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky and has been on the design staff for over 30 marching shows. In 2006 Mr. Bellamy was a member of the visual and design team for the Rhythm X Performance Ensemble and served as the director for the WGI Finalist Centerville ‘A’ Drumline.
Mr. Bellamy is currently the director of Bands and Orchestra at Miami Beach Senior High School in Miami’s famed South Beach District. He has started a competitive Winter Drumline, which in its first year has already received National recognition, placing fourth at the WGI Palm Beach Regional. He is currently a member of the Florida Music Educators Association, The Florida Bandmasters Association, and the Florida Orchestra Association.
