Paul Rousse is a native of Cut Off, Louisiana. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. While at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Paul studied percussion with Jeff Prosperie and conducting with William J. Hockeppel. He performed with the University Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Chamber Mallet Ensemble, Steel Band, Japanese Taiko Ensemble, West African Drum and Dance Ensemble, Brazilian Ensemble, Marching Band and the ULL Indoor Drumline. He was also invited to perform two programs with the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra. While in Lafayette, Paul worked as an instructor for Erath High School, and he composed original music for their 2004 Indoor Drumline. That group took 6th Place at WGI Finals in San Diego in the Scholastic A category.

Paul currently lives in Houston, Texas where he is Assistant Band Director at Langham Creek High School. Paul is working on a Master's of Applied Music in Conducting at the University of Houston with Mr. David Bertman. Paul is a member is the Delta Epsilon Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Percussive Arts Society, Music Educator's National Convention and the Texas Music Educator's Association.
