Benjamin, known by most as “Benjy,” has been involved in the marching arts since 2008. Starting his marching career as a tuba player, Benjy got his first taste of the percussion world playing bass drum his freshman year in Colerain High School’s winter drumline, and has been drumming ever since.

Benjy graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in biology in 2016, and has since returned to IU to pursue a master’s degree in secondary education. In his time in college, Benjy performed with the Indiana University Drumline for five years, serving as bass drum section leader his fourth year as well as drumline captain in his fifth year.

In his marching career, Benjy performed with the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps from 2013-15, aging out as bass drum section leader and battery co-captain. Benjy also performed in WGI with Legacy Indoor from 2013-14, and with Rhythm X from 2015-16, earning the WGI Percussion Independent World silver medal in 2015. 

Most recently, Benjy has worked as a bass technician with high schools across the Cincinnati and Indianapolis areas, with Legacy Indoor in 2017, and with the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps in 2016 and 2017.
