Devin is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Platteville where he studied percussion performance with Joe Caploe and earned degrees in both instrumental and general music education.  Throughout his marching career he performed with Oregon High School Marching Band, Capital Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, Colts Drum and Bugle Corps, and Gateway Indoor Percussion.  He received the "Rookie of the Year Award" as a member of the Oregon Marching Band and was selected to represent Capital Sound at Walt Disney World for the DCI Honor Corps in 2005.  He was also honored to be the marimba soloists as a recipient of the 2005 "Concerto Aria" competition for the University of Wisconsin Platteville music program.  

Devin is currently the percussion coordinator for the Desoto Central Band program in Southaven, MS where he arranges for the Pride of Desoto Central Marching Band, directs the percussion ensemble, and teaches general music.  He is also the founder, artistic director, and arranger for the Desoto County Indoor Percussion Program.  

Some previous teaching experience includes the Oregon Marching and Athletic Arts Program where Devin was the front ensemble coordinator and arranger for their flagship ensemble Shadow Armada and indoor percussion program Shadow Indoor from 2009-2012.  Shadow Armada has earned seven consecutive percussion titles in the MACBDA circuit, and Shadow Indoor Percussion recent finalists in the WGI independent A circuit.  Some other appointments include percussion designer for Hempstead High School in Dubuque, IA from 2006-2009, front ensemble coordinator for the Waukesha North "Northstar Marching Band" in 2011, Fort Atkinson Marching Band, Capital Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, Colts Drum and Bugle Corps, and the University of Wisconsin Whitewater Warhawk Marching Band.

As an arranger and composer, Devin has written for multiple groups that compete in the BOA and WGI arenas.  He has composed several works for percussion ensemble and is currently working on wind ensemble literature.  

Professional performance experience includes Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, Beloit-Janesville Symphony Orchestra, and the Rountree Ensemble.  He is also an experienced arranger and composer writing for numerous groups in the BOA and WGI circuits.  He is endorsed as an educator with the best stick and mallet manufacturer in the world Innovative Percussion.
