Ben Scearce is the Director of Percussion and Associate Director of Bands at Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield, Texas. His responsibilities include directing all percussion studies from sixth through twelfth grades in the Lake
Ridge Cluster. He teaches beginning percussion at Mary Lillard Intermediate School as well as teaching percussion classes at Danny Jones Middle School. Scearce is responsible for the marching drumline and percussion ensembles
at Lake Ridge High School.

Before arriving at Lake Ridge, Mr. Scearce's percussion ensemble at Timberview High School was the winner of the 2012 International Percussion Ensemble Contest held by the Percussive Arts Society (previously P.A.S. “call for
tapes”). They were also winners of the N.T.C.A. indoor standstill drumline contest in 2011. Scearce’s groups have consistently received superior ratings at the region and state levels. Ben was also on staff at the Blue Stars drum
and bugle corps. Recently, he has worked percussion masterclasses for the TMEA All-State Orchestra.

Ben graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. He also earned a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from Texas Christian University. While attending both O.S.U. and T.C.U., the percussion ensemble received the honor of performing at the Percussive Arts Society’s Call for Tapes Showcase Concert (1996 and 2005). Ben also won the P.A.S. High School Individual Tenor Drum Championship in 1995. Ben serves as an active clinician and arranger throughout the midwest and the state of Texas. Mr. Scearce's professional affiliations include: Texas Music Educators Association, Percussive Arts Society, Texas Bandmaster’s Association, and Innovative Percussion.
