Mike Scott is an instructor, clinician, and private teacher in music education programs across Ohio. A graduate of Miami University, Mike earned his Bachelor Degree in Music Education in 2012. There he studied percussion under Dr. William Albin, conducting under Prof. Gary Speck, and piano under Dr. Lian Tan, and Dr. Robert Thomas. Before become active as an instructor and logistics consultant in the marching performance activity, Mike performed as a conductor of the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps from Canton, Ohio, and a member of the front ensemble at Rhythm X. He was also the drum major of the Miami University Marching band for two seasons.
Mike is currently the Director of Instrumental Music at the St. Ursula Academy in Toledo, Ohio where he teaches 6-12 band, orchestra, and general music. In 2012, Mike joined the administrative team of Rhythm X as the Operations Director. In 2013, Mike joined the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle corps as the Tour Administrator. He also served as a Tour Manager for the ten-time world champion drum and bugle corps, The Cadets. Mike proudly endorses Innovative Percussion, Digimet Metronomes, and Etymotic Research.
