Roman Trujillo has been a percussionist for over 15 years. He began drumming when his father made him sit on the drums at church. He started his marching career at his high school and soon after graduating joined the wind ensemble at Riverside Community College (2010). He began his post high school marching career marching bass drum with the SDSU Indoor Drumline in Independent Open. Shortly after he began his Drum Corps career with Impulse Drum and Bugle Corps out of Southern California on bass drum. His age-out summer was spent with Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2013.
Roman has taught at several schools in Southern California and secured a bronze medal in 2016. Shortly after relocating to New Jersey he began teaching at Parsippany High School and Pequannock High School. He has also been teaching at East Coast Percussion which competes in Independent A in WGI and spends his summer teaching with the Hawthorne Caballeros as a bass tech. His SoCal upbringing and his exposure to the East Coast mindset helps him bring both ideologies together and uses that to help his students achieve their goals and become better musicians and young adults.
