Alan Brawdy is the Director of Percussion at Heritage High School in Frisco, Texas and has been a percussion educator for 15 years. Accomplishments since taking charge of the Heritage Percussion program in 2022 include: 1st place finish and outstanding tenor line and front ensemble at the 2024 North Texas Drumline Contest, outstanding tenor line at the 2023 NTDC, outstanding snare line at the 2023 Lewisville Drumline Invitational, outstanding percussion at the 2023 McKinney Marching Invitational, consistent success in the All Region audition process, and a 1st place finish in the 2025 Percussive Arts Society International Percussion Ensemble Competition resulting in a showcase performance at PASIC50 in November 2025. 

Prior to his current position, Mr. Brawdy served as the Director of Percussion and Associate Band Director at Plano West Senior High in Plano, TX (2009–2013), and the Assistant Director of Percussion at Heritage High School (2013–2022). During his time as the assistant at Heritage, he also taught privately and founded and ran two percussion-based nonprofits with the goal of using percussion as a vehicle to engage and uplift underprivileged youth in the area. 

Mr. Brawdy graduated from The Colony High School in The Colony, TX in 2003 and holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master’s degree in Music Performance from Northwestern State University in Louisiana, where he studied under Mr. Kenneth Green. His professional memberships include the Percussive Arts Society and the Texas Music Educators Association, and he is an Educational Artist with Zildjian and Innovative Percussion. 

Alan resides in Allen, TX with his wife and daughter. Outside of teaching, he is an active member of the Orthodox Church and enjoys playing golf and watching Tottenham Hotspur and the Dallas Cowboys.
