Alex Siegelman has been involved with Percussion since the age of 6 and with the Marching Arts as a bass drummer in the marching band since 2005. He has been in-demand as both a bass drum instructor, and as an audio engineer and consultant for groups ranging from the secondary scholastic level to the independent world class competitive level.
After graduating from American Heritage School, he continued to pursue his passion for music and has been an instructor since 2012 for BOA and FMBC finalist programs in Broward County such as Somerset Academy Charter School (2A State Champion ‘13), J.P. Taravella High School, and was the Director of Percussion at Cypress Bay High School (5A Best Percussion ‘17, 4A 2nd in Percussion ‘18). Having recently relocated to Orlando, he is currently working as a percussion instructor at Cypress Creek High School.
Alex’s marching experience includes multiple seasons of both WGI and DCI with the following groups: STRYKE Percussion Ensemble (2012, 2014-2016), Legends Drum and Bugle Corps (2014), and The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps (2015). Alex is thankful to have been under the instruction of such influential people, such as Cisco Hance, Rudy Flores, Russell Wharton, Joe Hobbs, and Mike McIntosh.
Since aging out, Alex has gone on to teach drum corps with Heat Wave in 2017 and Music City in 2019 as both a bass drum and visual instructor. Upon returning to WGI in 2019, he has served in several roles with organizations such as bass instructor for STRYKE 2 (‘19 4th place PIA), ensemble coordinator for Infinity 3 (‘20-‘21 PIA), and bass instructor for Infinity Percussion (‘21 PIW).
Alex graduated from Florida International University in 2015 with a B.A. in Communication Arts (Organizational Communication), and from Full Sail University in 2021 with a B.S. in Music Production. He currently works as a Studio Assistant and Audio Engineer at Evermore Sound in Orlando, FL, and endorses Innovative Percussion as an official IP Educator.
