Andy Meyerson is a drummer and percussionist based in San Francisco, California. He is the Artistic Director, co-founder, and percussionist of The Living Earth Show, one of the premiere experimental classical ensembles in the United States. Named one of the “22 performers to watch in ‘22” by the Washington Post, The Living Earth Show has presented over a decade of “outstanding” (San Francisco Chronicle) and “transcendent” (Charleston City Paper) new music that pushes the boundaries of technical and artistic possibility while amplifying voices, perspectives, and bodies that the classical music tradition has often excluded.

He is also the drummer and co-founder of queer nü metal collective COMMANDO, music director of renegade dance company Post:ballet, and the artistic director and CEO of uncompromising experimental chamber music record label Earthy Records.

In the past several years, he has been an artist in residence at Stanford University, the University of California at Berkeley, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, the University of California at Davis, the University of Michigan, and the University of Maryland.

In 2022, he will release of four new TLES albums on their Earthy Records imprint: Music for Hard Times (with Danny Clay), Lyra (with Samuel Adams), A Kind of Ache (with Sarah Hennies) and Shahnameh: Book of Kings (with Sahba Aminikia), as well as AFFIRMATIVE ACTION, a collaboration with Zachary James Watkins, on Sige Recordings, and COMMANDO’s self-titled debut, which will be released March 4 on Kill Rock Stars. He has also released two solo percussion recordings: “My Side of the Story” (slash/sound recordings) and “Extra Time” (Hasana Editions).

He is an endorsing artist for Marimba One, Spaun Drums, and Innovative Percussion.
