Antonio is a Percussion Instructor, Arranger, Clinician, Adjudicator, Design Consultant, and is one of the founding Directors of Momentum Youth Arts Organization. Antonio Co-Directed and Instructed the 1997 WGI World Champion “South Mountain Percussion Ensemble,” the 1997 PASIC Champion “South Mountain Drumline,” the Arizona State University Spring Drumline (1999), the ASU Marching Band Drumline (1999), the Glendale Community College Independent Drumline (2000), the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps (2004), he is currently Directing Instructing, Arranging, and Designing for Momentum Percussion Theater, WGI Percussion Independent World Division Ensemble from Gilbert, Arizona.

Antonio was a former member of the Arizona Sun Drum and Bugle Corps (1991, 1993), ASU PanDevils (1991), ASU Latin Jazz Ensemble, and a member of the Arizona State University Marching Band Drumline (1991, 1992, 1993 Tenor Section Leader/Co-Drumline Section Leader 1994). Antonio studied under Tom Float and Paul Rennick in 1994 as a member of the Velvet Knights Drum and Bugle Corps.

Antonio Hernandez has instructed and arranged for many successful high school drumlines for the past 13 years, working with all levels of indoor and outdoor percussion programs. Antonio is the former Director of Percussion for Winter Guard Arizona (2004-2006), and is an active ABODA/WGAZ adjudicator. In addition to percussion Antonio is a passionate community activist working in the Non-Profit/Health and Human Services arena, his eclectic knowledge includes Business (Director for an Early Childhood Development Head Start Program), Martial Arts (3rd Degree Black Belt), Science (Bachelor of Science Human Biology-GCU), Performance/Developmental Psychology, Show Design, Team Building, and At-Risk Youth Mentoring making him a well-rounded Clinician and valued member of the Momentum Percussion Staff.

Antonio Hernandez’s honors include 1991 DCI Directors Choice Award (Individual and Ensemble competition), 1991 Sudler Trophy (ASU Marching Band), 2nd Place Bass Ensemble (1994 DCI Individual and Ensemble Competition) the 1997 WGI World Championship, 1997 PASIC Championship, and 2003-2004 WGI World Finalist.
