Brooks Wackerman is one of the most influential and inspiring Rock drummers in the world today. Currently the drummer for Avenged Sevenfold, Wackerman began his career as a teenager with the band Bad4Good, which was produced and guided by guitar master Steve Vai. Hailing from a very musical family, Brooks’ father is a well-respected, long-time music teacher in Southern California and his brothers also all have successful music careers. The thread of talent throughout his family is well known and inspiring. Brooks is also a former student of the famed drum teacher Murray Spivack, who’s method provided the foundation and technique for some of music’s greatest drummers. Early on, Brooks worked with Infectious Grooves and The Vandals and in 2001, he became the drummer for Bad Religion, appearing on 5 of their albums and toured internationally with them, gaining millions of fans, worldwide.
A few years after joining Bad Religion, Brooks got an offer to be the drummer for Tenacious D, the band comprised of actor/musician Jack Black and Kyle Glass, on their Pick Of Destiny tour. For the next 9 years, Wackerman juggled both bands, appearing on multiple worldwide festivals and popular TV shows like David Letterman, The Tonight Show, The Daily Show and more as well as recording with both bands on many of their releases.
Over the years, Brooks Wackerman has worked with many other artists including Korn (sharing the drum duties with Terry Bozzio), Suicidal Tendencies, Mass Mental, The Innocent, Avril Lavigne and Blink-182 and he’s played drums on major film soundtracks including Team America, Doom and 50 First Dates. In 2015, Brooks became a member of the immensely successful band Avenged Sevenfold and continues to record and tour with them to this day.
