Bruno Cilloniz has been a performer, writer, and professor of music since 1995. His expertise in percussion and composition have earned him national and international acclaim in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, South America, New York, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Ohio, and Chicago while in high demand with notable groups such as Musica Povera, The Lloyd Rodgers Group, Hour of Power Orchestra, LA Philharmonic, Pacific Symphony, Santa Monica Symphony, Musical Theater West, Blue Birds, 3D Theatricals, Debut Orchestra, Bel Canto Chorale, Vox Dance Company, St Joseph Ballet, and the Alpine Theater Project to name a few.
Mr. Cilloniz is currently the Director of Music at Mater Dei Music Academy in Santa Ana, CA, where he teaches the 4th-8th grade band program, which consists of 150 student members. Mr. C, as his students refer to him, will be developing and exposing his gifted musical students with opportunities to perform at prestigious Jazz and Wind Ensemble festivals around the country.
Bruno also established from its inception one of the finest Catholic School music programs in the nation. Through his gifted knowledge of music, he founded, taught, and inspired his students at St. Genevieve ES from 2010-2015 to be a winning musical program. St Genevieve performed at the Reno Jazz Festival, San Francisco Wind Ensemble Festival, Las Vegas Jazz Invitational, Fullerton College Jazz Festival, SCPA Championships, and at the 2012 WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. With his leadership, his groups have won medals and Championships for each of these events but most notable though, are his Jazz soloists who have collectively won scholarships to attend the Idyllwild Jazz Summer Camp while receiving top honors from the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE)
Mr. Cilloniz has successfully developed music programs in Southern California which include Los Altos HS, St. Joseph ES, Downey HS, Warren HS, Riverside King HS, and Full Force Percussion. Under his direction, each of his outstanding groups have won numerous medals in SCPA, WGI, and ADLA competitions from 2002-2011. He was also the Front Ensemble Caption for Valley View HS, bringing home Southern California’s first ever WGI open class medal in 1997.
His body of work also includes work as accompanist/composer for the Chapman University School of Dance (2017 to present) and the Fullerton College of Dance Dept. (2000-2010) where he collaborated on original works with Artistic Director Melanie K. Rosa. He was also one of 5 music accompanists for the 2009 ACDFA National Dance Conference in Akron, Ohio where he accompanied World Renowned choreographer, Tom Evertt.
Mr. Cilloniz is a percussion adjudicator with SCSBOA, ADLA, SCJA, and WGI.
