Caleb DeGroote

Caleb DeGroote is currently a resident of Washington, D.C., but grew up in Canandaigua, NY. He holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Music and Political Science from Binghamton University and a Master's of Arts in Diplomacy from Norwich University. Throughout his life, music performance and education have always been an integral part of his life.

Since his first teaching position with the Naples High School Marching Band in 2006, Caleb has taught a total of 30 competitive seasons over 14 different scholastic programs, with these ensembles competing in NYSFBC, NYSPC, TOB, BOA, USBands, and WGI.

Caleb began his drum corps career with the Rochester Crusaders playing marimba and timpani in 2008.  After aging out with Citations in 2009, he spent four seasons (2010–2013) with the Empire Statesmen instructing the front ensemble.  In 2014, Windsor Regiment experienced significant growth with the introduction of new staff, including Caleb DeGroote as the percussion caption head.  For the 2015 and 2016 seasons, Caleb DeGroote was the front ensemble instructor of Fusion Core. 

He is currently the front ensemble arranger and program designer with Clearview High School Marching Band, the President and Principal Percussionist with the Rockville Brass Band, and holds a seat on the Board of Directors of the North American Brass Band Association. Recent awards include:

1st Place: 2016 Mid-Atlantic Brass Band Festival, "Adult Solo Percussion" competition

1st Place: 2017 North American Brass Band Association, "Full Band" competition, second division

3rd Place: 2017 North American Brass Band Association, "Adult Solo Percussion" competition

1st Place: 2018 Mid-Atlantic Brass Band Festival, "Adult Solo Percussion" competition

1st Place: 2018 North American Brass Band Association, "Adult Solo Percussion" competition

1st Place: 2018 North American Brass Band Association, "Full Band" competition, second division
