Chris Vanderwall is the Director of Bands at Plainfield Central High School in Plainfield, Illinois. Prior to his appointment at Plainfield Central, he was Director of Bands at John F. Kennedy Middle School. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education Degree at VanderCook College of Music in 2006 while studying percussion with Kevin Lepper and earned a Master of Music Education Degree at the University of Illinois in 2011 while studying percussion with William Moersch, Ricardo Flores, and Bolokada Conde. Mr. Vanderwall has taught in Plainfield School District 202 since 2011. 

At the middle school level, Mr. Vanderwall taught band to students in grades six through eight as well as an auditioned wind ensemble and two percussion ensembles. At Plainfield Central High School, Vanderwall oversees the marching band, concert bands, jazz band, musical pit orchestra, and Drumapalooza.
Chris serves on the VanderCook College of Music Alumni Board of Directors and plays timpani with the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra while also maintaining professional memberships with the Percussive Arts Society, National Band Association, and the National Association for Music Education in addition to proudly endorsing Innovative Percussion and Etymotic Research.
