Corey Roberson was born and raised in Tifton, Georgia. Corey began playing music at the age of 10. He grew up with a huge influence of Southern Gospel Music and has been playing drum set at church since the age of 14. When he was in sixth grade he started band classes and continued on throughout high school in the marching band and concert bands until he graduated. After Corey graduated Tift County High School in 2001, he was offered a full music scholarship to Jacksonville State University. There he studied percussion under Clint Gillespie and Mr. Tracy Tyler. During his time at JSU, Corey marched with the Jacksonville State Marching Southerners for four years.

Corey has committed the last 12 years to the world of rudimental percussion and has had the opportunity to travel all around the country with many different groups. His credits include: Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps (2001, 2002), Spirit Drum & Bugle Corps (2004), and the six-time WGI World Champions Music City Mystique (2003-2006). After his marching career ended he went back to teach with Spirit Drum & Bugle Corps (2005), Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps (2007), and was the bass tech for Music City Mystique (2007-2009). He has also taught at the University of Cincinnati (2007, 2008) and the Middle Tennessee State University bass drumline (2008).

Corey recently decided to focus more in the drum set field, and was recently hired as the full time touring drummer for country music artist Lance Stinson.
