A passionate drummer and percussionist from a Musical family, Dan aims to use Music to bring people together. His dedication to Music beginning at the age of 9 has guided him to become a band leader, educator, multifaceted performer, and professional.
Dan is studied in rudimental percussion having committed 17 years to Marching Percussion playing and teaching. As a youth Dan performed with two of the most prestigious marching music ensembles in the USA, The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps and Rhythm X. While a cast member, the Cavaliers won the 2008 Drum Corps International Bronze Medal. Dan as a cast member of Rhythm X helped the ensemble win both a Gold Medal and finally a Silver Medal to finish his “age-out” season.
Dan earned his Bachelor of Music degree in 2010 at Eastern Kentucky University, having studied percussion, world Music, and Music industry under Dr. Jason Koontz, Prof. Chris Munson, and Prof. April Brumfield. At EKU, Dan performed with all major musical ensembles that included percussion, as well as with their renowned Dance Theatre as a featured musician. Prior to this Dan attended University of Delaware andperformed with University of Delaware Marching Band, Concert Band, Steel Drum Band and Percussion Ensemble.
After Graduation Dan was hired by Pearl Drums (Nashville, TN) and served as Marching Percussion Marketing Manager leading the top selling Marching Percussion brand in the World. He is now a full-time musician, performer, artist, and educator based in Nashville, TN.
Dan has taught music in schools and in a private lessons setting for the last 12 years. He considers himself an eternal student.
