Originally from Israel, Dani Danor has made a name for himself as a versatile drummer in the world’s most respected Jazz scene - New York City. Since 2015, he has been performing with leading jazz vocalist Cyrille Aimée, touring extensively throughout the US, Europe and Asia.

Dani has performed in some of the most celebrated international jazz festivals including Montreal Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival and Jazz in Marciac. Additionally, he has performed at renowned jazz clubs worldwide including Blue Note, Birdland, Jazz Standard, Ronnie Scott’s, Bimhuis, New Morning and The Cotton Club.

His other projects include the Arnan Raz Quintet and Tipsy Oxcart, a Balkan dance band which he co-leads. Dani’s composition “Tipska” from Tipsy Oxcart’s debut album Upside down, was featured on CBC, Canada’s National Public Radio.

Dani received his Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory in Boston, where he studied under the guidance of jazz masters Billy Hart, George Garzone, Jason Moran and Rakalam Bob Moses. Each of these unique mentors has contributed to shaping his own personal innovative style. After graduating in 2011, Dani relocated to New York City where he currently resides.

Besides performing, Dani takes great pride in teaching the art of drumming to students of different levels and age groups. By passing on the tools he acquired over the years, he believes a person not only gains musical fulfilment, but also a sense of dedication and discipline. Dani has over 10 years of experience and currently teaches at his studio in Brooklyn, NYC.

Dani is a recipient of scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarship, NEC’s Beneficent Society and the Eubie Blake Foundation.
