Originally from the small town of Rantoul, Illinois, Dave Schmuck began his college education in near by Champaign-Urbana, Illinois in 1996 in music performance.  While there, he performed in many local jazz, music theater, and symphonic groups as well as competitive ensembles including the championship Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps from Rosemont, IL.  Dave moved to the Chicago area in 2000 where he’s worked as a percussion instructor, private teacher, music arranger, clinician, and adjudicator.  He went on to work with the Cavaliers Drum &Bugle Corps in the early part of the 2000’s as well as the percussion sections for the University of Illinois Marching Illini, the University of Kentucky Winter Drumline, and the Northern Illinois University Marching Huskies.  Dave has spent that past 11 years teaching percussion at Prospect High School in Mt. Prospect, Illinois and has consulted many programs in the Chicago area.  He was the founding director of the Chicago Bears Drumline since its inception in 2005.  Mr. Schmuck is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois where he received his Bachelor of Music Education.  For his next chapter, Dave has moved to the Dallas metro area and looks forward to carving a name for himself as an educator and performer in Texas.
