Eliot Johnson

Mr. Eliot Johnson recently accepted a position with Norwegian Cruise Lines as the show band and lounge band drum set player aboard the Norwegian Sun cruise ship. 

Mr. Johnson previously served in Frisco ISD as Assistant Director of Percussion for the Lebanon Trail High School cluster, which includes Fowler and Clark Middle School, working alongside Director of Percussion, Dr. Rob Parks. 

Mr. Johnson graduated from The University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, under the direction of Professor James Campbell, as well as drum set with Paul Deatherage. 

Mr. Johnson was given the Lewis Award, which is won through an audition process and given to the most outstanding incoming student in the UK School of Music. During his time at UK he was involved in the wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, and percussion ensembles, most notably performing with the UK Percussion Ensemble on a tour of China, as well as performing a Showcase Concert at PASIC as winner of the International Percussion Ensemble Contest (IPEC). 

Mr. Johnson grew up in Frisco ISD, and was under the direction of several of the band directors he recently taught alongside. He was the first percussionist to ever make an All-Region band from Fowler Middle School and went on to become a three year member of the prestigious TMEA All-State Band. He was also awarded second place at the PASIC high school keyboard solo competition.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the Phi Mu Alpha music fraternity at UK and is an active member of the Percussive Arts Society and the Texas Music Educators Association.
