Harvey Price

Harvey Price is an Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Delaware where he has been teaching since 1979. At Delaware he runs the percussion and marimba ensembles, the internationally acclaimed Delaware Steel, and performs with the faculty jazz ensemble. He has his B.M. from the Philadelphia Music Academy, (now University of the Arts), and his M.M. from Temple University. He is a very active performer in the Philadelphia/Wilmington area where he plays with the Philadelphia Orchestra, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, The Delaware Symphony, Opera Delaware, The Opera Company of Philadelphia and the theater orchestras of the Prince Music Theater, the Walnut Street Theater, and the Dupont Theater. Mr. Price keeps busy as a jazz vibist, steel drummer, and is xylophone soloist along with his wife, pianist Linda Henderson, in the early jazz group, Bit O' Rhythm. Harvey is co-founder of HydroSteel LLC, http://www.steelpans.com/, the first company to mass manufacture all stainless steel Caribbean steel drums.
