Jason Connell is the percussion instructor for Brazoswood High School, Lake Jackson Intermediate, Clute Intermediate, and Grady Rasco Middle School.  Before coming to Brazoswood, Connell worked at Brazosport High School where he directed the non-varsity band and taught beginning woodwinds and brass at the respective feeder schools.  Prior to joining the BISD music staff, Connell worked and student taught in Indianapolis with Dan Fyffe and the 6-time Winter Guard International champion “Franklin Central High School Winter Percussion” program.  In 2006, Connell earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Ball State University where he studied percussion with Dr. Erwin Mueller.  At Ball State, Connell was awarded the James Lane award in 2004 and the John McMahan award in 2005 for leadership and dedication in percussion.

Connell is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association and Percussive Arts Society. Connell lives in Lake Jackson with his wife, Gabe, who also teaches percussion at Brazoswood and other BISD schools, and their two sons, Jackson and Harrison. Connell proudly endorses Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets.
