As a performer Grant enjoys existing simultaneously in many disparate fields of music; namely Classical Percussion and Punk Rock. Since 2017 Grant has been the drummer for Los Angeles based alternative-punk band Sad Park, has toured the country extensively, and recorded drum parts for all three of their full length releases. While not on the road however, Grant enjoys performing as a classical percussionist for various orchestras, chamber ensembles, and musicals across all of Southern California, as well as working as a studio musician in Los Angeles.

Grant is a graduate of CSU Northridge with a degree in Music Education and in 2020 was briefly enrolled as a Master’s Student in Percussion Performance at Boston University, but in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic decided to leave the program to stay in LA and begin his work as an educator and touring musician and since then, Grant has performed in almost every state in the U.S and Canada. Notable ensembles include: Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra, New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players, TEMPO new music ensemble, and most recently sitting in for a couple of shows with Arizona based folk-punk band AJJ in fall of 2023.

Besides performing, Grant is an avid educator and is very passionate about percussion pedagogy. Since 2020 he has taught at a variety of ensembles and institutions including Dark Sky Percussion (2020-present), Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets (2022), Conejo Valley Youth Orchestra (2022-Present), and as an extended guest lecturer for Percussion Pedagogy at California State University Northridge (Fall 2020). He also maintains a robust private teaching studio of students ages 8-23. While not performing or teaching, Grant can be found watching anime, playing dungeons and dragons, or hiking around Southern California.
