John received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Michegan State University and currently serves as the Percussion Director at William Mason High School in Mason, Ohio where he oversees the marching percussion ensemble and concert percussion activities during the school day.

He is active in both DCI and WGI, where he holds the position of Battery Coordinator for the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as Ensemble Manager with Matrix Open. He was also previously part of the instructional staff at Phantom Regiment (2019-2022) and has taught several high school marching bands acorss the midwest.

John was a member of several ensembles , including NorthCoast Academy (2014-2015), Matrix Performing Arts (2017-2018), and The Cadets (2017).
