Lauren Bolton currently serves as the Percussion Director for the Martin High School pyramid in Arlington, Texas. Lauren has a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a performance background that includes marching with Vigilantes Indoor Percussion from 2014-2017. In addition, Lauren has performed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention of 2017, and commissioned and premiered Dustin Schulze’s Waterfall for marimba.
Lauren has been instructing percussion students in the DFW area since 2014. She has played an instrumental role in teaching the percussion sections at Arlington High School, Trinity High School, Kennedale High School, Southlake Carroll High School, Richland High School, and Paschal High School. Her private lesson studios have included the Arlington High School and Hebron High School clusters, and has taught many All-Region, front ensemble, indoor drumline, and percussion ensemble masterclasses throughout DFW. In addition, Lauren has taught several independent groups including Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps, Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, and Vigilantes Indoor Percussion.
Under her leadership, the Martin High School percussion program has excelled in the marching percussion realm. They have consistently placed in the top 3 at the HEB, Lewisville, and Lonestar drumline competitions and have earned several caption and best in class awards. The members of the Martin Percussion program also earn membership in their All-City and All-Region ensembles each year.
Aside from being an active percussionist, performer, and educator in the DFW area, Lauren and her husband love to travel! They currently live in Fort Worth, TX with their corgis Watson and Bailey.
