Jason Long
Jason Long is employed by the Webb City R-7 School District in Webb City Missouri, as the Percussion Coordinator. His duties include coordinating and teaching all aspects of the percussion program 6th through 12th grades. Jason also arranges the percussion music for the award winning, 2-time Tournament of Roses participant Webb City Cardinal Pride Marching Band. Jason is also involved with the Webb City Winter Percussion Ensemble that competes in the MCCGA (Mid-Continent Color Guard Association) winter drumline circuit. Previously, he was the Director of Bands at Carlyle High School in Carlyle Illinois, and the Director of Bands at Dover High School in Dover Plains New York.
Jason was a member of the percussion staff for the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps from 2001-2005. He was the co-founder and director of the WGI Winter Percussion group Gateway Open, and has held the title of percussion arranger and instructor for the O'Fallon Township High School Marching Band and the Assistant Marching Band Director, Percussion Coordinator and Arranger/Instructor for the for the Mater Dei Marching Knights in Greese Illinois.
Jason received a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and a Masters Degree in Percussion Performance, both from the Crane School of Music in Potsdam New York. His primary teachers include; James Petercsak, Dr. Tomothy Topolewski, Ernie Muzquiz, and Dr. Robert Bridge.
His most notable performance experiences include; The Orchestra of Northern New York, Northern Symphonic Winds, The Hudson Valley Orchestra. His marching experiences include; The Crossmen Drum & Bulge Corps (1996), the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps (1999), and the Syracuse Brigadiers Drum & Bugle Corps (1993-1995, 1998). He was also a professional drummer for The Battering Rams, the offiical drumline of the NFL St. Louis Rams (2009).
Jason is often sought after as a guest clinician and adjudicator throughout Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Iowa, Texas, and the North East. He currently resides in Webb City with his lovely wife Rebekah.
