Joshua Hartwell is a percussionist and educator currently based in Houston, TX. Originally from the Houston, Texas area, Joshua holds a Bachelors in Music Education degree from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana where he studied with Dr. Lonny Benoit and a Masters in Percussion Performance degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas under Dr. Dean Gronemeier and Dr. Timothy Jones. He was a member of the 2016 Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps Front Ensemble, being a part of DCI’s Most Improved Corps that season.
Joshua has served on staff with Foothill High School in Henderson, NV where he instructed both the front ensemble and drumline. He has taught at several middle school and high schools throughout Texas and Louisiana in both outdoor and indoor marching activities as well as private lesson positions in classical percussion and drumset. He currently is a Percussion Specialist for Fort Bend Christian Academy in Sugar Land, TX.
Joshua has performed with many different types of ensembles and bands in Texas, Louisiana, and Nevada. He has performed professionally in the Las Vegas area for organizations such as the Nevada Conservatory Theatre, Destinations by Design, and UNLV and currently freelances throughout the Greater Houston area.
