Hailing from the great state of Pennsylvania, Joshua grew up in the small town of Hanover being drawn to drums at a young age. Emulating his father, Joshua was going to shows around town and watching him, waiting for his chance to get behind the drums. Studying heavily as a youngster and playing in jazz band, marching band, orchestra, local rock bands and more, Joshua made the move to Boston to study music at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. This gave him the opportunity to immerse himself in music full time and study with some of the best teachers in the world. There he studied with Dave Di Censo, Rod Morgenstein, John Ramsey, and Mike Mangini. Later continuing his desire to learn, he studied with the great Gary Chaffee while enrolled at Berklee and was introduced to modern jazz methods and techniques.
Joshua decided to leave Boston in pursuit of achieving more by moving to Los Angeles. Here he has had the opportunity to play with Slash, Brian McKnights band, Naked Eyes, and as of recently the Capitol Records band, In the Valley Below. With ITVB he has played numerous major festivals, toured Europe 5 times, the US 2 times, and has been on the Late Show with David Letterman, JBTV in Chicago, and Late Show with Harold Schmidt in Germany. The band has been featured in the movie Endless Love, the TV shows Pretty Little Liars and Ravenswood.
The single "Peaches" made it to the top 3 on iTunes Germany. SiriusXM plays In the Valley Below regularly on XMU and Alternative Nation. Terrestrial radio support has been happening in Portland, Salt Lake City, and Kansas City as well.
Joshua keeps a busy tour schedule, teaching schedule, as well as recording schedule while in LA performing on Movie Soundtracks and with other bands.
