Dr. Kenyon Williams has presented clinics, recitals, and master classes accros the United States as a soloist, clinician, arranger and educator. A graduate of the University of Kentucky and the Hartt School of Music, he has studied Afro-Cuban percussion in Cuba, Ewe drumming in Ghana, and performed with the world famous Invaders Steel Orchestra in Trinidad's Panorama. He has taught middle school through university percussion in Texas and Kentucky and has performed with the Louisville, Lexington, Abilene, and the New Britain Symphony Orchestras. Since establishing the percussion studio at Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2002, his program has hosted dozens of internationally recognized guest artists and the percussion ensemble has performed at national and regional festivals and venues. In addition, he directs Fuego Tropical Steel Drum and Salsa Ensemble at MSUM and performs as a section member of the Fargo Moorhead Symphony. Dr. Williams endorses Innovative Percussion, Inc. sticks and mallets and Coyle Steel Drums.
