Kevin Cisneros was born in South Los Angeles, California. He is a product of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) where he attended Palms Middle School and the Academy of Music at Alexander Hamilton High School in West LA. Being raised in the rougher parts of the city have inspired Kevin to promote the power of music in lower socioeconomic communities around him.
Past performance experiences include Pulse Percussion Ensemble (2015, 2016), Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps (2015), and the LAUSD All City Band (2012). Kevin has also performed as part of the L.A. Opera percussion section (2012), the Pasadena City College Lancer Marching Band and Percussion Ensemble (2013), and various Latin bands around Southern California.
Kevin directs the percussion programs at San Pedro High School in San Pedro, California (2017-Present) and El Sereno Middle School in East Los Angeles (2013-Present). He serves as assistant percussion instructor for LAUSD’s All City Honor Marching Band (2013-Present)—a consistent participant of the Tournament of Roses Parade every year. More recently, Kevin has joined the front ensemble staff for POW Percussion (2016-Present).
Past instructional experiences include directing the percussion program at John F. Kennedy High School in Granada Hills, California (2013-2016) and Chino Hills High School in Chino Hills, California (2016).
Kevin still lives in Los Angeles, and is in the process of completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education.
