Kris Hartman began his musical career at Victoria Stroman HS in Victoria, Texas. He marched five years of Drum Corps between Nite Express (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) and Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps (Denver, Colorado). He was also a member of the Blue Knights Indoor Percussion out of Denver, Colorado. While in Denton at the University of North Texas, Kris marched on the snareline for two seasons with the UNT Drumline.
After aging out he began teaching with many drum corps including: Nite Express, Blue Stars, Capital Regiment, Crossmen, and Revolution. He was also on staff with Revolution Independent and Imperial Percussion Theater as Battery Instructor.
Kris has worked with many high school percussion programs in Oklahoma and Texas such as Leander HS, Cedar Park HS, and Claudia Taylor Johnson HS. He is a founder of 5points Percussion (San Antonio, TX) and serves as Co-Director, Battery Coordinator/Arranger, and Designer.
Kris currently lives in San Antonio where he is an active arranger, adjudicator, and clinician. He is the Director of Percussion and Battery Arranger for CT Johnson HS, and percussion instructor for its two feeders: Tejeda and Tex Hill Middle School.
