Luke Davis is an Assistant Band Director for the Teays Valley Local School District where he teaches students at Teays Valley East and West Middle Schools as well as Teays Valley High School. Also serving as the district’s Percussion Director and Arranger, Davis guides percussionists at all stages to ensure their musical success in Concert, Marching, Jazz, and World Percussion performances. Prior to coming to Teays Valley, Davis had the privilege to work with musicians at the high school and middle school level throughout Illinois and Ohio including Miamisburg High School, Monticello Middle and High School, Marian Catholic High School, Urbana High School, and St. Joseph-Ogden High School.
In addition to actively teaching throughout central Illinois and Ohio, Luke has been developing his musicianship as percussionist working with outstanding faculty members at Miami University, Bowling Green State University, and the University of Illinois. With experiences in pursuing degrees in music history, ethnomusicology, anthropology, and Jazz, it is one of Luke’s primary goals to draw on his diverse musical experiences to help provide students with a wide array of ways to encounter and create music.
Currently, Davis lives in Columbus with his wife where he maintains a private lesson studio and writes/arranges music for marching band and winter percussion programs.
