Matt Moore is a percussion educator, composer, arranger, adjudicator, and performer in the Dallas / Fort Worth area where he has served as Associate Band Director / Director of Percussion for Eaton High School since 2015. With a popular catalog of works for percussion available through C. Alan and Tapspace Publications as well as arrangements for marching band and indoor drumline, Matt’s music has been commissioned, performed, and recorded around the country.
Matt's experience in music is highly diverse, beginning with piano, percussion, and vocal studies from a young age, continuing through horn in middle and high school band before focusing on percussion in college and beyond. In 2008-2010, Matt was a member of the battery staff for the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps from Denver Colorado, helping the percussion section and corps place in the elite "top 12" in the Drum Corps International Championships. Matt has previously served as Director of Percussion for Lake Highlands High School in Dallas, TX, Griffin Middle School in Frisco, TX, Graduate Assistant at Texas Christian University, and Assistant Director of Percussion at Colleyville Heritage High School.
Prior to living in Texas, Matt instructed and arranged for various high school, collegiate, and independent programs in Kentucky, including the Campbellsville University Marching Band, Speed Indoor Percussion, and Bands of America Class A Grand National Champion Adair County High School. As a performer, Matt was a member of Carolina Crown, Southwind, and 2008 World Champion Rhythm X Indoor Percussion.
Matt holds a Master's degree with honors from Texas Christian University, TX and a Bachelor’s degree with honors from Campbellsville University, KY. His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Percussive Arts Society, and Pi Kappa Lambda national music honor society. He is an educational artist for Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets and an ASCAP composer. Matt lives with his family in Lewisville, Texas.
