Matthew Poole is currently the Assistant Band Director and Percussion Specialist at at Clear Lake High School in the Clear Creek Independent School District. His responsibilities include conducting the Concert band, and overseeing all aspects of the percussion program at CLHS. Prior to his time at Clear Lake, Matt taught 2 years at Hasting High School, where his percussionist thrived in State Solo/Ensemble, Region Band, and placing 4th in the TCGC State Competition in their first year competing in
Indoor Percussion. 

Matthew is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University where he earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree in 2012. While pursuing his education at SFA he studied percussion pedagogy with Dr. Scott Harris. Prior to attending SFA, Matthew studied at Tyler Junior College under Tom McGowan. He competed in the WGI Tyler Junior College Indoor Drumline, including the 2008 Open Class World Championship group. Matt also has Performed with the Division 1 DCI Corps, Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps in 2007, along with qualifying for the Mid-American Wind Ensemble performing in Carnegie Hall in 2008.

After leaving Tyler Junior College academically, he returned to be apart of the staff for
the WGI Indoor Drumline, teaching Tenors and Snares and assisting in the promotion in
to WGI World Class, along with helping part-time with the Marching Band Drumline
teaching the Tenors. He also has been apart of the Clear Brook High School Indoor
Percussion Ensemble, assisting with the Battery and production of the group since
2012.

Currently, Matthew arranges for multiple Bands through out Texas, his compositions has been heard in BOA, TCGC Indoor Drumline Circuits, and multiple UIL events and competitions around Texas and Louisiana.
