Michael Gray has an enjoyed an extensive career as a drummer & percussionist. He has had musical performances that include appearances with Country Music Artist, Lee Brice on David Letterman, Jay Leno - The Tonight Show, The Ellen Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Conan, The Today Show, Good Morning America & many others. His favorite is still by far, the Grand Ole Opry in which he performed many times. 

Michael Gray Intro & the Early Years

Michael was born with drumsticks in his hands. Since an early age his energetic performances have wowed audiences. Musically, he is driven mostly by his own natural ability to read and play. Michael's formal training was derived through pure ambition and learning to read and play music in secondary education. He has put together his own style. Michael is deep rooted in Country however he also has a strong liking to Southern Rock and draws from it's diversity to add to his own brand of talent.

He has toured the country and has opened for National Acts such as Sawyer Brown, Chely Wright, Gary Allan, David Allan Coe, Shenandoah, Confederate Railroad, Warren Brothers Ricky Lynn Gregg, Mustang Sally, Highway 101, & Lila McCann. He toured with Carnival Cruise Lines, and was the chosen drummer for the Jimmy Dean True Value Country Show Down in Maryland. He earned Top Drummer awards for many years. He is well respected nationally for his talent, hard work, dedication and his embodiment of a true professional.
In 2002 he arrived in Nashville and his fine reputation had already earned him the respect of many artists. He is well sought after and worked locally with many aspiring acts. He collaborated with some of Nashville’s top hit song writers. He played independently at local Nashville venues such as the "World Famous Nashville Palace", Tootsie, The Stage etc... He has toured with Armed Forces Entertainment bringing music to our troops in 3 multi-City Alaskan Tours. He received a coveted award from the Coast Guard for outstanding performance to the military. In 2003, Michael was chosen by Bret Michaels as the drummer for the after "Flame Worthy Award" Party at the Stage on Broadway. He worked with many great artists including Toby Keith, Mark Wills, Troy Gentry, Joe Nichols, Jay DeMarcus, Joe Don Rooney (of Rascal Flatts) Marcel and Jeffrey Steele. Due to Michael's incredible reputation and ability he is one of the top choices locally for Showcases & Studio work. He has earned the respect of many artists in Nashville. After touring 3 years with Jared Ashley (former Nashville Star contestant), Michael voluntarily exited the SEC tour in December 2006 to further his career by seeking a position with a National Country Music Act, Lee Brice.

Michael Gray Drummer & The Lee Brice Band 2007-Present

By 2007, Michael began working with Lee Brice as a founding original member of his band. Lee Brice a country music singer signed to Curb Records. His highest-charting single is "A Woman Like You", which reached #1 in April 2012. He also had Billboard's Top Country Song of 2010 with "Love Like Crazy", the title track to his 2010 debut album; the song spent 56 weeks on the Hot Country Songs chart, peaking at #3 and setting a record for the longest run in the chart's history. His second album, Hard 2 Love, has produced the #1 singles "A Woman Like You", "Hard to Love", and "I Drive Your Truck". In August 2014, "I Don't Dance" became his fourth #1 hit. Besides his own material, he has co-written singles for Garth Brooks, Adam Gregory, Eli Young Band, and Tim McGraw.

From 2007-2010, Lee Brice continued to build momentum, and filled many US venues. In 2010, Lee Brice continued to be active with Radio Tour across the US. In 2011, Lee and the Band toured with Willie Nelson. In 2012, they toured with several artists including Jarrod Niemann, Miranda Lambert & Dierks Bentley. In 2013, they toured with Brad Paisley & Luke Bryan. 2014 saw Michael with Lee Brice touring again, with Luke Bryan on the My Kind of Night Tour nation wide. It was they debuted the #1 a new release from written and recorded by Lee Brice, "I Don’t Dance", which quickly became a critic and fan favorite. In support of this release, the band performed on Letterman, Conan, & The Today Show. This line-up toured extensively in 2014 as part of an Arena tour. The band is also on schedule to Headline and play some great new songs in 2015.
