Neal Titus is a percussionist, clinician, and educator from Denver, Colorado. He currently is the Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Denver, and the Director of Percussion at Chatfield Senior High, Deer Creek Middle School, and Falcon Bluffs Middle School, in Littleton Colorado. Neal has been very fortunate to study with some incredible instructors and professors through out his collegiate career. Two years of study with Dr. Ben Miller, and Steve Hall at Marshall University. He would go on finish his undergraduate degree in music performance at the University of Northern Colorado, with Gray Barrier. During his time at UNCO he performed with the percussion ensemble, wind ensemble, orchestra, Latin ensemble, as well as several chamber groups.
Through out Neal’s career he had the opportunity to perform and travel with many collegiate and non-collegiate ensembles. Some of these ensembles include, DSA Orchestra performing at Midwest (2008), The Thundering Herd Marching Band performing halftime at a Indy Colts game (2010), the UNCO Orchestra performing in Beijing (2012), The Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble performing at WGI finals (2012), and several conventions and clinics through out the Nation. After graduating, he taught the Dakota Ridge HS percussion ensemble and marching band. The percussion ensemble would go on to win their first Rocky Mountain Percussion Association Championship (SPCO).
In fall of 2015 Neal will begin his Masters at the University of Denver, studying with John Kinzie of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. In his spare time he is an active beat-maker/producer/sound designer in the greater Denver area. He is a member of Percussion Arts Society, and the Colorado Music Educators Association.
