Musical Director Peter Michael Escovedo
III has earned recognition not only as a percussionist, but also as a
producer, singer, songwriter and television personality. Named after his father, percussionist
and original member of Santana - Pete Escovedo, Peter Michael has contributed
in countless world tours, recordings and television productions. He's created
and produced television shows, written music for film, theme songs for
television and composed, arranged and produced music for various artists.
Peter Michael’s credits read like the
who’s who of the music and entertainment business. As a drummer/percussionist, he’s performed
and recorded with Mariah
Carey, Lionel Richie, George Michael, Earth Wind & Fire, Heart, Chaka Khan,
Michael McDonald, Barry Manilow, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Nicks, Huey Lewis &
The News, Stevie Nicks Eric Burden, Kenny Loggins, The Four Tops, Debarge, E
Train W/ Sheila E., James Ingram, Patti Labelle, Tina Turner and many more. As music producer, Peter Michael has produced
projects for a variety of artists including Bill Summers, Michael Delorenzo,
Joyce Cooling, Bernie Krause, Hype-C, his father, Pete Escovedo Orchestra and
his sister, Sheila E.
As a television Music Director for
shows like the Wayne Brady Show and the Martin Short Show, Peter Michael has
performed with Justin Timberlake, Mos Def, Jessica Simpson, Baby Bash Featuring,
Franky J., Luther Vandross, Ru-Paul and many of the artists listed above. Special events on which Peter Michael he has
appeared include both the Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards, the American Music
Awards, MTV’s 10th Anniversary Special, the Olympics Closing Ceremonies,
the Alma Awards and the VH1 Awards.
Peter Michael recently launched his own
production company Peter Michael
Productions, which creates, develops and produces shows for television and
film. Peter Michael Productions is currently in production of two
children’s shows airing on the new network “Baby First America”, which launched
in January 2013 and reaches 50 million homes.
