Rob Lozano is currently the Assistant Band Director and Percussion Director at Claudia Taylor “Lady Bird” Johnson High School in San Antonio, Texas. Rob holds a bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT, Rob studied under world class percussion instructors Thomas Burritt and Tony Edwards, as well as conductors Robert Carnochan and Jerry Junkin. He was a member of the University of Texas Percussion Group, which attended and performed at the PASIC Convention in 2012.
For the past two years, Rob was the percussion director at Forney High School. Under his direction, the percussion section accrued numerous awards and accolades in the marching and concert percussion arenas, including 1st place at the Lone Star Classic Drumline Competition in 2016 and 3rd place in the North Texas Colorguard Association indoor percussion circuit in 2017.
Rob has extensive experience performing in and teaching front ensembles. He was a member of the Bluecoats front ensemble in 2012 and 2013 as a marimba player. He has worked with various front ensembles in Austin and San Antonio, including Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps, James Bowie High School, Robert E. Lee High School, East View High School, Rouse High School, and William Brennan High School.
