Ron Garza is currently an Associate Band Director at East Central High School in San Antonio, Texas, where he instructs the jazz band and oversees the percussion activities for the East Central ISD.

Before becoming a band director, Garza served as a percussion consultant and kept a private lesson studio, along with teaching middle school and high school percussion classes and marching percussion in the San Antonio area.

He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Texas State University-San Marcos where he was a member of the Bobcat Marching Band, PASIC Drumline, Salsa Del Rio Latin-Jazz Ensemble, the Panorama Steel Drum Band, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.

Garza’s professional memberships include Percussive Arts Society, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and he is an endorser for Innovative Percussion, Inc.
