Ryan Pride is the Percussion Director at McCallum High School and an active performer in the greater Austin, TX area. Originally from Pflugerville, TX, Ryan has been teaching, performing, and composing for over two decades and has been fortunate enough to perform across much of North America and Europe. Getting his start at Texas State University where he earned a Bachelor’s in Music Education, Ryan is a versatile teacher, having taught the full range of percussion sections for many organizations including Glassmen, Crossmen, Phantom Regiment, Gateway Independent, Rise Percussion and Rhythmic Force Percussion. He has held positions at Georgia Tech, Katy High School, and Morton Ranch High School. At McCallum, which is an award winning Fine Arts Academy in the heart of Austin, TX, he oversees all aspects of percussion education including marching band, percussion ensembles, steel drum ensembles, and Brazilian bateria. As a performer, Ryan consistently takes the stage with the Austin Symphony, Cedar Park Winds, and as a soloist.

Ryan holds a Master’s in Percussion Performance with certificates in Music Theory and College Teaching from the University of Colorado-Boulder and plans to pursue a doctorate in Music Education in the Fall of 2026. He is endorsed by Zildjian, Innovative Percussion, is an Honorary Member of Kappa Kappa Psi, and is a consistent member of the Percussive Arts Society and Texas Music Educators Association.
