Satoshi Kanegae was born in Fukuoka Prefecture and graduated from Fukuoka University Ohori High School. He played snare drum in the 2003 Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps and the 2005 Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps.

After returning to Japan, he has been involved in the instruction and arrangement of groups participating in competitions organized by the Japan Marching Band Association and the Japan Band Association, mainly in the Kyushu region.

Satoshi primarily handles marching percussion instruction, battery/pit/brass arrangements, and drill design. He is also a DCJ Certified Judge.
