Sean Cook is a third year teacher at Elkhart Central High School. Hailing from Avon, Indiana, Sean was a member of the Avon Marching Black and Gold and the Avon "World" Indoor Drumline. During his time with the groups he participated in events and shows with the Indiana State School Music Association, Bands of America, Percussive Arts Society International Conference, Indiana Percussion Association, and Winter Guard International.
After graduating from Avon in 2012, Sean went on to study Music Education at Indiana State University. While at ISU, Sean toured around Indiana to different high schools with the percussion ensemble for recruitment. Besides participating in the percussion ensemble, Sean was also in the Wind Ensemble, Steel Band, and Sycamore Drumline before graduating in 2016 with a Bachelor's in Music Education. While in college Sean was on percussion staff for Lincoln High School in Vincennes, IN and was also a percussion instructor for the Community School of the Arts at Indiana State. His time with the CSA included teaching private lessons for percussion, teaching Rock Class, ;md being the Drum Set tech for Rock Camp.
In 2011, Sean joined the Indianapolis High Octane Drumline where he spent five years with the group. During this time, he performed during and after Indiana Pacers games. The group also took on the Indy Motor Speedway as they performed at the track every weekend in May for the Indianapolis 500 and one weekend in July for the Brickyard 400. Sean was not only an entertainer for the group, but also wrote music and choreographed routines and dances for the ensemble.
Sean is currently the Assistant Band Director/Director of Percussion at Elkhart Central High School and its two feeder middle schools: Pierre Moran and North side. During his time in Elkhart, he started a brand new indoor percussion program that competes in the IPA and WGI circuits. Sean has also taken the group to compete in P ASIC and Drum Corps International Drumline battles where they placed 2nd in both contests (PASIC twice).
